Hi, I’m Tayler.
I’m an entrepreneur working on my second company, a modern art supply brand called Happy Medium. I’m also a casual artist and an art/history nerd. I’m based in NYC, where I moved after studying Economics at UNC Chapel Hill almost 10 years ago. I grew up all over the place, but mostly Nashville, Austin, and Aachen, Germany. I spend my free time making physical and digital things with my husband and hiking with our husky.
I’m a proven eCommerce pro, with a background in merchandising, who has spent almost a decade growing and scaling the eCommerce businesses of some of the largest and most iconic American brands.
I started my career as a merchant at J Crew under Mickey Drexler. I quickly moved into eCommerce, establishing the first eCommerce Merchandising team for J Crew Factory. From there, I went to Ralph Lauren where I worked on the ops side of eCommerce and helped facilitate a transition to a new eComm platform. Lastly, I was an eCommerce marketer & operator at Victoria’s Secret Beauty.
Along the way, I cofounded a property management app which was acquired by a competitor pre-launch.
In addition to working on my startup, I enjoy writing about eCommerce and merchandising topics for founders, particularly in the DTC space. You can learn more about how I think from my Twitter threads and this article I wrote for Alpaca VC.
Recently, I’ve become very interested in talent scouting and helping founders strategize for their hiring needs. I recently launched an eComm jobs board to connect talent with companies.
I’m also a startup consultant and advisor. I love working with founders on:
